Welcome
The Connaught Club located in Chingford is situated in a beautiful position deep in the heart of Epping Forest on the borders of Essex and the borough of Waltham Forest. Historical research has shown that the original courts belonged to The Royal Forest Hotel and The Connaught was established as an independent club in 1885.
The Connaught Club offers a wide range of facilities such as:
The club opens at 8.00am Monday through to Sunday and closes at 11.30pm. Tennis court’s available until 10.30pm and Squash courts available until 10.45pm. The Bowls season runs from April to September and can be played until dark!
The Bowls section are delighted to have gained 13 new member for this season. The Bowls committee would like to welcome them and wish them many happy hours of bowling.
To ease parking at weekends there is a gate at the end of the new small car park on Rangers Road which will be opened to allow people to park on the adjacent grassed area. Hopefully this will relieve some of the pressure on the approach road and the car park adjacent to the club.
Subject to weather practice starts from Monday 16 April with our first match for members Ladies v Men on Saturday 21 April starting at 2.30pm. The match is followed by a fish or chicken supper.
M.U.G.S. wanted! For those who are unfamiliar with the term it stands for ‘Members Undergoing General Services’. The MUGS have been working tirelessly through late summer and winter to restore the Club to its former glory. If you have some free time and would like to join the group you will be warmly welcomed.
